AutoCoding Systems were delighted to host Amand Connor, M&S Factory Standards Manager and his colleagues from the M&S (Marks and Spencer) Food Technical team at AutoCoding Systems UK offices in April 2025.

Mike Hughes, founder of AutoCoding Systems and Rick Ballard, UK Business Development Manager, presented a series of live demonstrations and hands-on practical sessions with the AutoCoding product. The AutoCoding team shared insights into best practice in system design for effective automated controls for code management and packaging verification.

Mike Hughes commented:

“AutoCoding Systems began working with M&S twenty years ago. We are extremely proud to have contributed to the food safety systems within so many M&S approved factories.  We run this type of session a couple of times each year for the M&S teams, to allow them to introduce colleagues to the concepts behind AutoCoding and where and how it can be used to error proof packaging lines.”

Marks and Spencer implements a comprehensive set of standards for suppliers to meet, including requirements for ‘finished product packaging  verification and date code control’.

The AutoCoding system wholly meets these requirements and gives customers extended value in areas such as Paperless Quality and Compliance Reporting.

The system is capable of deploying a set-up recipe to the whole packing line. The AutoCoding system connects with devices and equipment, integrates with the master data from ERP and planning systems, and extends right through the operation from primary pack through to outer case and pallet labelling.

JBT AutoCoding Systems is now part of JBT Marel, a leading global food technology company and a key member of its Software and Digital group.
